Why am I being sent back to levels I have already passed ?

Twice yesterday I was sent back to levels I have already passed. The problem is that I start playing before I realize and if I quit or lose I lose a life. Some of these levels I used boosters so this is hardly fair that I am being sent back. Yesterday I passed level 2629 and this morning I was in the middle of playing it when I realized I had already passed it.
