When i go to make a purchase, google play is not listed as a payment option although it shows on my google play account.

Your Google Play account should come up once you request to purchase Gold Bars.
If you have to change or edit your payment details, this Google support site should help you: https://goo.gl/gPyE5Z
You can also contact us through your in-game settings:
- Open the game
- Tap on the left bottom corner
- Tap the cog wheel
- " Help Center"
- Choose the appropriate category
- Select "Contact us" at the bottom
