I have reached level 3065 and I am being told that new levels will be available soon....

....also it was suggested that I continue to play older levels to collect bonuses. But I cant participate competitively in some of the events when I am not completing new levels. I checked with online help and some are showing levels up to 3100....so why cant I access them? What is the point in holding me up for a week or so if there are more levels?
This also happened when I was on 3050 and after 2 weeks I could access another 15 levels. After 2 days I had completed them and am waiting for another two weeks!!

The amount of levels depends on which platform or device you play on since the updates with new levels get released on different dates to different devices.
The Windows app is the platform with most levels at the moment. You can download it here to your Windows 10 phone or PC:
