I cannot reset a level for example to have 2 boosters together, it just says that if I quit, I will loose space dash etc, so you have to play that level or loose everything - 1 go. I am on level 3665. This has never happened before, please help

I know that I will lose a life if I quit after making a move. But what has changed is that now I also lose a life if I quit BEFORE making any moves. So I can no longer reset the level to line up my boosters in the way that I used to. And I don't understand why some can still do this and I can't.
I can reset a level by exiting it without losing my space dash challenge. But now I can no longer exit the game in the middle of a level without losing the challenge. This just started for me from today with the new levels (3666+).
That's Always been the case, If you quit / exit a level you've started playing, its the same as failing the level and you lose the space dash / helmet.
Once you start a level you must beat that level to keep the boosters going.
If you cannot beat a level, you can save your space dash progress by clicking the refresh button (gameroom / facebook) or exiting and restarting the game (mobile / windows 10 ).
You will still lose a life, but your booster progress will be saved.
With the increasing difficulty of new levels, this is the only way to keep your space dash progress, tho technically it is a bug / cheat and may one day get fixed.
I am going to test it out now on my browser! I just tried it out on 2 different levels. I opened the level and then quit and it was still showing 5 lives left to play.
Happening to me too. I'm on 3665 and waiting for new levels tomorrow. This is going to make things so much more difficult if we can't reset.
Hi Katie, then if it is happening to you too then they must have made a change in the game. There have been a few changes in the game lately so this must be one of them that once you start and quit then you lose the challenge.

Hi Jackie, you have to exit out of the game before making a move. If you play even just one move it's recognizing that you played the game. Is that what happened to you or is it something else?

King is selectively changing Candy Crush game behaviour for some/many players (but not all). Those affected are "testers" selected by King - but without communication/notification.
The change seems to mostly affect regular players at more advanced levels, e.g. level 2000 or higher.
For those affected, there are two possible adverse changes:
1. Can no longer exit a new game board without losing a life and selected boosters (e.g. before making a move).
2. Can no longer exit a game in progress without losing Boosting Spaceship (etc.), e.g. by force-closing when playing on smart phone.
These game play changes occur with or without updating the app.
I fixed this problem several times, for myself and my spouse, only to have one or the either game-play problem re-assert a week or two later.
Seems King is rolling out eroded game behaviour in recurring waves.
The game play fix I used involves taking an encyypted back up my entire iphone and then restoring it, sometimes more than once. This preserves game levels but can cause player level and saved boosters to be lost.

Thank you Ametro, you have given more explanation to this terrible situation in almost 8 weeks!. It helps somewhat to know that King are just bringing about all these changes erratically & randomly. I wonder if anyone there knows just what is happening?. I suppose that all this sorry situation is just in King's hands.
I am currently stuck on level 3556 and everytime I quit I lose my boosters. Can someone please help me!!
It should be obvious at this point that the King goal is to throttle top players and encourage use if boosters, use, spend money. This is usually an indication of declining success. Witness Zynga a few years ago.
After 9 weeks with all the changes and then some. After reading this and many other threads and the same complaints on many different sites, I concede defeat. I have never paid for boosters and will NOT DO SO and after all this time and with advice from “people in the know “I conclude that King truly want me to quit. All these weeks I held the belief that they would resume “normal “ play and I still have received no reply from customer care. I hope that along with thousands of others that King have /will not have shot them selves in the foot.
If anyone knows of good alternative games I would be grateful .
Airplane mode worked for me until today. Now it does not keep the boosters when you quit anymore. Man, this really sucks.
I remember when this happened to me. Thousands of levels and hundreds of hours in, and king changed how the game works. Very happy to say I play Royal Match now, I have turned cc on once or twice maybe a year ago, never since. Thrilled to play a better game with better real people support, and give them my hard earned cash. Talk about how to screw a money printing machine up, for what not to do, follow what king/cc did.
| thought I'd miss it and have withdrawal and so on, nup! Best thing they ever did, I lost so much time on candy crush, and I am way better off for turning my back and leaving this grubby game maker.

I have been playing Candy Crush Saga from past 10+ years and with my personal experiences, I can say that the game has changed a lot since then! There are lots of new features and new boosters, blockers , and of course some bugs as well!! But, I feel that we cannot expect a picture perfect game that is free of glitches all the time!
