Is the Build-a-Bot supposed to go back to zero automatically, or not?

I got the new-style Built-a-Bot on 22 March and was able to use it for the first time on Wednesday 26 March, when new levels arrived (I play on iPad). I went through the levels and build up the bot to maximum efficiency.

I have read many comments where players say that their maximum efficiency bot was automatically set back to zero, in many cases on Monday. So I was expecting this to happen to me as well. But it has not happened. I got 30 new levels yesterday and was able to play them with the full bot. And the bot is still full.

So what is the normal game behaviour, and what is the anomaly?

• The bot is supposed to stay at maximum efficiency until you lose a level, even if this takes weeks or months
• The bot is supposed to automatically go back to zero at regular intervals (like once a week).

Based on what the bot itself says, "Booster Bot is at maximum Booster efficiency, which will last until you lose a level" it should be the first option. But why then do so many players complain that it has been automatically reset?
