I miss the stories

When I first started playing, every time you opened a new episode, before the first level, a little story would play of a problem a character was having that needed to be solved. And once you beat the last level of an episode, you would get a brief "happy ending" and the characters on the board would change from sad/mad to happy. I really miss those little stories and whenever a new episode opens up, I make up one up in my mind, even though the characters are already in happy mode. Does anyone still get these little events? I know they still play out on the initial levels, but has anyone seen one past level 3000? I wish they would come back, I would rather get fewer episodes each week if it meant stories could be added.

@piglet301 - Do you mean when the characters appeared almost in puppet form? If so - that stopped a long time ago (around level 141 on my tablet), and there definitely aren't any in the higher levels. I liked how in each episode you could tap on the figure and they would 'talk' to you.
