I no longer have "Fun Events" icon on iPad -no CandyPet or buildabot. help!

Sometimes, clearing the cache and rebooting our device would work to bring out the Trophy, but not all the time!!
Since you are on iPad, try to play couple of levels and exit to the Map screen. Now, the "Trophy" icon might pop-up!!
I tried it yesterday, and the trophy reappeared for me
