Yep, that happens sometimes.

But after you click that backpack-looking thing (on the right side of the map) to check the inventory, some boosters (&/or maybe 1 or 2 gold bars) are added.

Unless you remember exactly how many of whatever stuff you have; if you have a doubt, check it out...
