How do I force the app to close? Can I delete the app and downloaded again will I be at the same level if I sign in? I really don’t want to start over!!

On your device, go to settings; then go to apps, find this game in it & force stop.
And do not uninstall, unless you don't have (or care about) boosters to spare; & they will not reimburse (unless they're bought), but would prefer you to buy.
Starting from ground zero shouldn't be necessary...

I have force stopped my game many times. It changes nothing. Still can't get an internet connection.

Well, at least you've got the force stop thing down pretty good.
But you've got the other problem, which seems similar to this one.
Hope the other apps on your device can connect, seems like the issue is with Facebook &/or King here...
