Is there a way to delay when you accept timed boosters?

It would be great if I could take the timed boosters when I had 5 lives, instead of getting it when I'm down to 1 life.

    @mcgirl unfortunately most cannot be delayed although sometimes the ones you win from space race can but this is a bit hit and miss
