What level allows a link to be added to a post?

I was asked to post a link to a video showing an issue I was having, but just got this message :

'You have to be around for a little while longer before you can post links.'

I tried added it via 'add media' and also pasting the link it. Same response.

Could anyone tell me what level I need to be at before I am allowed to do this...many thanks

You cannot upload videos to here . you need to upload to a file sharing site like YouTube and then you can link that in a post here

Hi @Freddy_Falkner Sorry I wasn't clear. It was a YouTube link I was trying to post. In the end I pasted in the extension only which could be copied and pasted into a YouTube address! Convoluted work around but at least it worked

@jeanps , Sorry yes i guessed and was just trying to find information i think maybe its level 3 but not sure when you have made 50 comments but at least you have got it sorted

Did this happen in private messaging? It used to happen to me too when I was ranks lower. Maybe I was at level 2 too, not sure. And on the guide this aspect is not specified. Maybe you can add media/links when you're level 3. I checked it out now and I can add stuff with rank 4, defenitely

Yes it happened both in private and public messaging. Thanks for checking it out for me. As I say I found a workaround using just the extension. I'll let you know what happens when I get to level 3! Thanks again

Hi Jean and good day to you. Yes you did it correctly, just copy and paste the YouTube link in your message box and click enter. However, music video can't be done in the exact way. You need to be at Level 5 to post music videos in message/comment/ activity walls instantly. That's what I've experienced throughout my period in this community 😅

If you want to post music videos in your activity wall you can still do so but it will need to be approved before it's being posted.
