How and why is it possible for someone to suddenly join the weekly challenge mid week?

A few times now, I have had a sudden new addition to the weekly challenge mid week, with an astronomical/impossible amount of wins to take me out of first place. That player's number then never changes after. Speculation is that the game developers do it to get you to spend money. No matter the reason or how it occurs, it is not at all moral or acceptable.

@AWZ951 Hi and welcome, The reason this happens is that people play off line then they will connect online at the last minute to register there score, so no one has a way of knowing there score. It is frustrating but there is nothing that can be done to stop this. I have had this happen a few times myself.

Thank you for that answer. I suppose it explains the question although I still do not see how it is possible for someone to get a score of over 400 wins in a couple days let alone a week. lol
