@seaside Hi and welcome, Your gold bars should be sync to kings servers so you should not lose these but lives can be lost in many ways and this can be one of them
Please try logging out and restarting your device and then log back in and see if your gold bars are present
Have you just done game or device update or have you changed your device

I agree with Mr Freddy, updating your game will results in missing gold bars. You may be temporarily disconnected from your profile/game. Thus, please disconnect your game from the wifi/internet, wait for several seconds or more before reconnecting back to the wifi/internet.
