Yeah, happens to me as well. I remember that you didn't loose lives if you quit without making moves but I guess they changed that 🤷

About lives

Lives received from Facebook friends are notifications sent in Facebook. They're held in your profile and delivered into the game once per notification.

This means that if you update Facebook, change your profile, reinstall the Facebook app or even update its app software, those Facebook notifications may get lost, as they've been delivered and cleared from the queue. While it is possible to store in-game messages from your friends, due to these factors outside our control, we cannot guarantee that they will remain on your device indefinitely.

Lives can also be lost through an update to the game, your own device or by restarting your device, which clears a certain amount of memory, depending on your device. We therefore recommend limiting the number of messages and lives that you save; a full mailbox can also affect the functionality of the game.

This is the way it works. Once the level is started if we quit we will lose the life. Otherwise players may use it to their advantage by trying to get the good lucky board by quitting again and again till they find a good board.

@Tanya1225 Hi and welcome, This was changed in the game a while back and you can no longer enter a level now and quit without making a move without losing a life.

Shame this was changed but guess thats progress

There was a little thread on that subject (from December of '19); you should've been there, you would've loved it.

Maybe just read the first few pages; but if you'd like to read the rest of 'em, that's on you...

Nope, King cannot have players cheating the game in this fashion; as that would be bloody shameful, & utterly disgraceful (not to mention GD reprehensible)...
