I'm talking about within the event itself, is there a pattern as to where the troll shows up, or is it completely random? Because every time I pick something I want, I get him.

I also believe it's random. Some players claim that if you remember where the troll appeared the last time you can click there and you won't lose, but every time I tried this strategy it never worked! Sorry @Gruncher! 🤷
