Are you playing on a Kindle tablet and the first move you make is launching the UFO? Here's what I wrote about Kindle game crashes:
Currently, many players older kindle devices has been experiencing a glitch: The game crashes when you launch the UFO element. The issue is known and now has been reported, and it will be fixed soon. All you can do at present is to be patient. It is helpful if you occasionally check your app update, and then log out of your game. Restart your kindle device, and then reopen game and log back in. However, this might not work for the first few times, until the issue is solved. You probably won't experience the problem until an update.

Are you two having the same issues?
If the game exited itself after you log in, please check for any new updates and perform the update accordingly. If this has been done then restart your device. To ensure smooth update of apps, your device should have at least 2GB of free space.
Also, please ensure your device OS is updated and no compatibility issue with the app.
