Just recently I have noticed that if I play one level for more that 30 tries, I seem to acquire extra turns on the 31st try. Each time I play the level turns get added to the level then when I reach around 30 I notice I get extra tries? Is this a new test feature since they took the extra turn wheel away?
Well for me @Jennifer_Wheeler they haven't took the turn wheel away, so you could be right.
King seems to assign people to groups and then they experiment on those groups by giving each group different features. The aim of the experimentation being to see how favourably the feature is received.
It could be that you are indeed part of a group that has received a feature that provides you with extra turns.
I am sure I remember level designer @LindQ saying that no one has to play a level for more than thirty turns though, so I wonder about a feature that is only designed to start after a player has played more than thirty.
If it is a new feature do you like it?
Hi, @Alienscar ! Your memory is both correct and a bit off. On average no levels should take 30 tries, but we do not track individual player data unless there's an issue, but we track the average data. So the average player should not play the level more than 30 tries, that would make a level very very difficult, but sometimes players get very lucky or unlucky boards, some players are more skillful at different level types etc. So sometimes a player might play a level 30+ times, but on average no. Hope that helps! 😊
