General advice is to play at the bottom of the board if you can to create cascades and therefore more chance of a lucky arrangement of Candy.
Try to create special candy if you can.
Concentrate on the goal of the level that you are playing. Where are the ingredients, and where are they going.
Clear blockers ad soon as you can.
As kiara says though for better advice it would help if you could tell us what level you are on.
Also note that if you are at the end of the map some of the levels have had moves removed to the point that you won't complete a level without using boosters.
