It looks like... so far... the levels from 9996 are a bit easier. 9997 is a crap as the original 8K level was I see.

I spoke too soon, 9999 is also ridiculous. One last pile of rubbish to sit through until the game relents and lets you past.
What a complete failure this road to 10000 was.
Seeing comments in this weeks episodes thread, it looks like the quality of levels continues to be poor.

@LindQ don’t mean to brag but how come I passed Nightmarishly hard level 9996 on the second attempt and was stuck on easy level 9993 for five days? 🤔

I would say you got a very lucky board in 9996 where I'm currently stuck. Or sometimes levels are made easier or more difficult but keep their original rating.

I wouldn't worry too much about the level ratings these days, they are generally completely unreflective of the realities of an episode, particularly after King have made their adjustments following the release on windows 10.
Often, in recent episodes, the super/nightmarishly hard level is actually amongst the easiest in that episode.
Very often as well, the level prior to the super/nightmarishly hard one will be incredibly difficult too, but not marked as such. This generally ensures you lose you candy necklace before you hit the harder level, and is clearly deliberately done so to entice you to use or purchase a few boosters/gold bars, to retain your candy necklace for the harder level.
Back to this shambles and, without question, every level from 9990 to 9999 should have a nightmarishly hard rating applied.
