I was just wondering because I have not seen any recent reports about this level. The issue in 2021 appeared to have been that there were only 18 moves for an order of 100 chocolate, so they did fix it at the time and it has not seemed to be an issue since. It's too late to check it out now but I'll take a look in the morning to see if I can beat it. Maybe @MannyFae might you like to take a look at this one as well and see if we can pass it.
Hello again @Greshen_Lewis I managed to just pass this level with just the two starting boosters, colour bomb and wrap/stripe. The latter I got from the fishing boat when I was down to my last life. However, I am not quite sure just how I did it.
The first thing we have to do is clear the rainbow twists, so if you don't get a chance to do this early on you probably will fail. I had got rid of it and some of the chocolate here with 17 moves left.
I decide to not overthink it but play the same strategy I use for all levels: If there is an opportunity to make a wrap/stripe combo I play it. This does create a cascade and sets off the UFO, so with 11 moves left I have cleared a lot of chocolate. This is where the counting sets in.
I have 27 chocolate on the board and still need 36. I have another wrap/stripe combo, which I play. Then I make some moves near the top to avoid hitting any chocolate so it will spread and the mixer spits some out as well. On the screenshot below I have 27 chocolate and need 28, so I feel it is safe now to hit this wrap/stripe combo.
The result is a little disappointing.
But I carry on using my usual strategy: If I see a chance to create a special candy I make that move. So I match the four blue candies in the third column and a wrap conveniently drops to give me this combo:
I am still worried here but the combo is clearly the best move so I make that move.
The first magic mixer explodes and I get a yellow fish, which conveniently sits next to a striped candy so I can match those two. The result is good as it hits the second mixer, the yellow fish near the top left and the third fish is released.
And again, I did not know at all what to do here and am not sure which move I made, but somehow the game was in "pass" mode by now, and the next two moves somehow hit the yellow fish, which to my surprise opened up a UFO that I did not even know was hiding in that "fish" box on the bottom right!
And that's it: That UFO comes and finishes the job for me, all on my last move.
I am sorry that my solution isn't brainy or clever, in fact it is rather crude. It just boiled down to using the strategy I use for all levels: make special candies and create and set off combos of special candies. If you are given a lucky board this strategy will work. If you are not in luck then no strategy will work anyway and you will fail whatever you do. On this level in addition you need to count chocolate carefully.
I cannot tell you if playing without starting boosters would have led to success.
Good luck!
Hello @Greshen_Lewis
I managed to pass this level without boosters this morning by following @christinewupp's startegy and making every special candy I could.
It was an obvious lucky board which gave me LOTS of opportunities.
At this point, I activated a UFO, and all three wraps went to the bottom left corner area. The outcome is fabulous.
As the game keeps providing me with opportunities, I keep making specials and combos.
With four moves remaining, I still require seven chocolates, and I currently have five. The area where the chocolate is located is restricted by licorice curls, so I need to either unlock it so that the chocolate can grow or wait for the magic mixers to spawn more chocolate. I chose to unlock that area by matching blues above the mixer.
I spend the next two moves making matches in the upper corners, waiting for the chocolate to grow.
With two moves remaining, I have more than enough chocolate. So I match reds above the magic mixer, which explodes and sets everything into motion: fish, a UFO unlocked by setting off fish, leading to the win.
I second everything Christine has said about this levels' strategy: you need a lucky board, you need to make advantage of it by using every opportunity to make a special or a combo, and, when you get a good board, you need to count your chocolate.
It's possible that if chocolate doesn't grow, it may be limited by licorice curls and have no space to grow, similar to what happened to me. So, watch out for that too.
Good luck!
hey MannyFae, thanks so much for taking the time to do this so very helpful as it showed me that I was already doing this each time but the difference is which you had pointed out is getting a lucky board!!! Which I finally got along with using my last Gold bar. So relived that that level is over. Now to catching up to my follow friends ๐๐
