I just noticed that the free tier of the season pass had half of its rewards removed while the paid tier went up to $7 from $3. Whoever makes these game decisions needs to have their sanity checked or go back to business school. Who would ever support that?

The free pass in Season Pass has less rewards, simply because it's the free of charge option.
If you choose to purchase the Gold Pass, you will get way more rewards. The charge you pay for is to get these extra bonuses and rewards.
All purchases are fully optional in the game, therefore there are both a free and purchasable option in the event.

I am fully aware as i have purchased the premium pass for $3 before. The issue here is removing half of the rewards from free tier and adding them to the paid tier and then more than doubling the price.
