I beat a level and didn't advance

I beat a level, as I got the win pop up I got a phone call and hit the home button on my phone and took it. 45 minutes later I open candy crush again and it has me on the same level. I never actually closed the app. The game was just minimized. What can be done besides having to waste hours on a pain in the butt level which is pure chance?

This happens to most of us, unfortunately. Hopefully it isn't a hard level that you need to replay :(
