I leave you some tips to be able to pass this level.
Get through the licorice and destroy the magic mixer in the center quickly to leave you enough moves to clear the board of bubblegum pop and blockers. Wrapped candies are best for breaking through the licorice and hitting the magic mixer
Stripe/wrap combos are the best combos to use to clear the bottom part of the board and since it can be tricky to make colourbombs these are often the only combos you are able to make.

Candy Crush Saga Level 8401 – Hard level - Clear the Rapids with 23 moves on this date
I played 1 game - no boosters. I came close
This level requires us to use many combinations of striped, wrapped candies and color bomb(s) that the game may give
This level is also one of chance plus the skills you have
I would suggest no pregame boosters at first, as it may take many tries with a lot of luck
Don't get discouraged this level is hard for all of us but you will pass it

all the videos I’ve seen have 23+ moves and I only have 18. Hoping for a lucky board after this comment. This level feels impossible

You have to move the frog to where you see the skull face. In my previous screenshot it's on the right but the level starts with the skull appearing on the left.
Thank you Tess. That's the issue . I haven't been able to clear the skulls even not after 5 hits. Where do you start ,the first at our top left or right. Besides there are very few moves.

I also leave you these tips hoping they can help you for level 8041
Level 8041 is an ingredients level, you have to collect the cherries to complete the level. The cherries are locked under the sour skulls, so you have to clear these to unlock the cherries before you can collect them.
The frog is the secret to this level, he is the best way to clear the sour skulls and unlock the cherries. Use the given colourbomb to grow the frog as soon as possible, then place it next to the first skull. After this either make a colourbomb or make moves under the dispenser at the bottom to drop a colourbomb from the dispenser. Every time you have a colourbomb use it to grow the frog and use the frog to clear the next sour skull until they are all gone and the cherries are released onto the board. Once the cherries are on the board you just need to drop them to the exits.
NOTE: You have to move the frog to the coves where there are skulls as indicated in the circle.
