It’s a family movie that’s for sure. I wouldn’t really call it a Christmas movie because it’s so rarely mentioned in the movie. Really, it could take place on thanksgiving or some other holiday as well. The only part it’s relevant is the guy comes home for Christmas to see the wife and daughter and goes to the office Christmas party.

And some say it isn't. In a poll of 2032 people 47% indicated that they didn't think that Die Hard was a Christmas movie. The film was originally released in July as well.
