If I win a bonus of 5 games, but I already have some games in my inbox, it doesnt add 5–I feel like I lose out. for example, if I have 3 games in my inbox when I win the bonus, I should get 8. But instead, it only sets to 5 so in reality, I only got 2 bonus games.

You aren't alone in thinking like this @vgrocho498 the con that is an 'additional' five lives is very often complained about on this forum.
I very much doubt that King will change their ways though.
