When the fun stops, stop. I know I'm not alone in finding a lot of levels – especially in the 12000s – utterly frustrating because of move reductions to the point where levels are only passable with boosters and/or gold bars to buy extra moves. But it used to be fun.
What I've done is to go back to the beginning. And it's enjoyable again. I played some of the early levels several times when the feature that gave you boosters for passing consecutive levels was around - can't remember what that was called now. But they have changed these early levels too. There are more hard ones but not so fiendish that they're impossible to pass. The fish are still pretty useless but that's another story!
It will take a long time to get back to the level I was at, but that's OK. I'm enjoying the game again.
