event button doesn't work sometimes, I would have to log out than in for it to work, been like this for a week now

Hello Munster, I have found that you don't have to log out/in to fix the unresponsive Event button all you need to do is play another level

Also just returning to the home page (Play button) of the game and pressing Play makes the Event button work again.

It has been this way for over a week for me.

Unfortunately this issue seems to be getting mixed up with another issue that causes people's game to freeze at the end of a level

To make events appear, you can try playing a level (win or lose) and this sometimes forces events to show up. Good luck!
