I'm afraid the admins of the platform have disabled private messaging. Add to this the inability to interact with friends in-game. For some reason, 10 years since game was launched, there's no social element to keep players engaged and active.
This said, your options to chat all exclude official communication channels. You could go on Reddit, join some Facebook groups or dig up some Discord server.
