Hello @camberwellbeauty, you aren't the only person to be suffering with the unresponsive "go to map" button.
The issue has been reported by a number of people and we have been told that King are investigating the problem.

Are you playing the game on a mobile device OR on Windows10 App version? There was a complaint this morning but it was on Facebook Browser version!!
** And, you shouldn't have to close the App every time got bounced off the eventπΆπΆ I will report about it to our Candy game In-chargeποΈ
** With regards to "losing the timed boosters" also should not happen if you close the App! I will report that tooποΈ

Can you please tell me whether you are playing the game on a mobile device OR on PC? If you are playing on PC - is it on Facebook OR the App version through Microsoft Store?

I needed to know whether you are playing the App version OR on Browser. Firefox means, you are playing on browser.
This morning, another player complained about the same issue on their browser too. Our Candy game In-charge has informed that is being investigated and should be fixed soon. Please check this thread for your reference (click on the green letters to open the complaint).
When we are playing on Facebook browser version, we don't have to anything from our side, as the game automatically updates!

The issue with the Candy Royal pop up that gets stuck has been solved! Please restart your game if you currently have it open ποΈ
