Why is the prize for second place in the weekly contest so ridiculous?

And why is it just the same as third place? There may be a difference of maybe a hundred, how is that fair?

And while you are at it, ask the team why they also removed the gold bar earnings in the streak, please. Is this the strategy to make the game "more enjoyable"? LOL
