I hear you!! Sometimes, I too do not understand how a player passed triple amount of levels than me, within a short period of time!!
But, I always thought and realized that the player must have been at the lowest level possible!! I do not remember when a Candy Crusher receives special events in their game! But, even if the players are at level 50, it is easy to climb up very quickly by passing so many levels!!
Unfortunately, the Weekly Race (along with few other events) does not have a "Level Limit" for participants. Not all players of one group start at the same level!!
