STAR TOURNAMENT

Went on another test with Star Tournament: is it better to join the Tournament late.

Had to use hubby's account, cos I started the race in my own account on Day 1 to score for Top Climber, very tough fight there.

Started on his account when there were 3 days left

Checking on last day to see whether it's worth playing on

Gave it a shot, leading with 5hrs left

Too narrow a lead, so played on

Player at #9 rocketed to position #2 in about 2 hrs' time with +121 stars. I had to race with her until she seemed to have stopped the game at 1.5 hrs left.

The final scores:

I feel sorry for her, that she didn't keep her 2nd position, and losing out just by 1 star.

My conclusions:

  1. joining late does seem to give an advantage, there were only 7 players, 3 had zero score then.
  2. need to monitor progress keenly, especially during the last few hrs (no fun to me)
  3. won't be playing Star Tournament for its rewards,
  4. will only use Star Tournament levels for other contests, to make up for insufficient new levels.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have never bothered with the Star Tournament and I see the prizes are not worth the effort. Joining late is always a good idea in competitions I see, so this one too. Gets you into an easier group. Enjoy your new levels coming out soon. Hope they are good ones....
