If that is the issue you are talking about, it is not you or your computer that has caused the change!
The Candy Crush game Studio has decided to change the look of the game, and they changed it on all devices & platforms - mobile gadgets, computers - App version and Facebook browser.
Looks like you and some other players have received the change today, where as many others received it couple of months ago! And, some other groups (along with me) have received it in March itself.
Unfortunately, we - as players cannot do anything to change it back😕😕 Hope the Studio listens to all of us and bring the full screen back!!

I can play the game but it says it is in a different format and is small I don't think it's the browser is there something else that can cause this

Which browser are you using right now? May be you can change the browser and see if it lets you play. You can use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, etc., and check if it works.
