I was checking other ways to help with the issue you are experiencing...
A question!! When you are logged into the game through Facebook, can you access the "Help Center"?
Pink Cog Wheel on game Home screen --> ? icon at the bottom of the screen of "Settings" window --> Access the "Help Center" which contains various topics?

The best remedy would be reinstalling the App!! But, when we do that, we will lose all our saved boosters and also lives received from our friends. So, I am trying to avoid that step for you!!
Can you please log in through Facebook again, and show me
(a) the screenshot where it shows that you are logged in
and (b) a screenshot where it asks you log-in again!

It doesn't appear to stay logged in. It shows me I'm logged in, nothing works any better and when I go back into that profile screen it just asks me to log in again.
Why are you saying that logging in via Facebook does not fix the issue? Can you please explain?

On the home screen of your game home screen, do you see "My account" below to "Play" tab?
That is where I need you to click and take a screenshot of that profile screen.
** If that screen is showing any of your personal details - email address, full name, etc., I need you to erase those before taking a screenshot to keep your account details safe🙂

When you win the events, are you able to collect the rewards? Or do you see "Connection error" pop-up?

Using an Android. Only an issue on Saga. The issue happens regardless of whether mobile or wifi. I can play the game, but I can't do anything that requires a connection, like log in, ask for lives, etc. Error attached. Thanks so much!

Few questions for my clarification... which device are you using to play the game?
Are you experiencing this issue with Candy Crush Saga only or other games too?
Are you not able to log into the game itself OR are you not able to connect to the "in-game Store" where you buy extra moves or boosters with Gold Bars / real money;
Are you trying to log into the game through Wi-Fi or Mobile data? If you are playing through Wi-fi, I would suggest you to --> turn off your Wi-Fi, and connect to Mobile Data and see if the game connects;
Please provide these details by typing in the blank box given below to my comment.
