Why all the changes? So much lost

Since the game was changed so the screen is much smaller, I have lost so many other features too. I am no longer able to send lives to friends when I start the game; the chocolate box has disappeared; there are no longer races with other players; no star for winning the first level of the day; no daily award other than the spinning wheel. What has gone wrong? No longer fun to play and I've been playing for many, many years.
