Hello @mudjogger and welcome to our community. I can understand your frustration. Does this only happen with the Ads? No other actions in the game are affected?
I don't receive ads in my game. It is randomly given to various players. I didn't have any for about 7 years, then I had them for about 4-6 months and now they are gone again, so I can't compare personal experience with my iPhone.
It sounds like it is just the Ads giving you problems. I suggest you contact player support to see if they can help. However, realize you might end up losing the ads from your game (they could come back, but they could be gone for awhile - if forever).
If you play on mobile, then please email Player Support directly from the game. Go to the game's Start Menu, then Settings - Help Center - Event & Challenges - Contact us and send them an email.
