I was given the name "Muffin" by the game but want to change it to my real name

When I created my account about two months ago the Candy Crush app forced me to choose a "sweet" name after a few levels played. I had no choice but to click on one of the names. I would like to change this name to my real name, but although I try to on the screen "Edit account settings" and press "submit" it always then reverts back to "Muffin". Can anyone advise me how to get rid of this silly name and change it to the one I want?

What if you try to change your name by tapping on your profile picture on top of the game map an changing the name from there? Does that work?
