Beginner tips?

Hi! I'm playing from the United States and love Candy Crush Saga and candy crush soda. I was wondering if you guys would have any beginner tips? I love these games it helps me relax and turn my brain off!

Also how long have you guys been playing for? I've just come back to playing the games but I would love to hear why you started playing candy crush games and how long you have been playing!

I'm in Gulfport, MS. I've been playing CCS pretty much since the beginning. All the tips that @christinewupp are very, VERY valid.

I do have to add, however, this is not the same game as it was years ago when it was introduced. It used to be fun, you definitely COULD swipe the stress away. Can't do that anymore. It's become a money grabber. Microsoft (therefore Zuckerberg) owns it now and it's only going to get worse, IMO. So as Christine said, don't ever pay real $. You'll lose your ads that gives you free boosters and moves.

Hi there. My beginner's tips are these:

First and foremost be aware that King control every aspect of the game: the levels are largely pre determined as to whether you have a chance to pass them, some on your first try, some on your second try, some only on the 20th try or if you play starting boosters. We can't advise you which is which because every player gets a slightly different game from King. The events also are not what they seem (episode race, weekly race, candy royale). In the episode race for example you are racing against recordings of previous players carefully chosen by King to either help you win easily or make it a greater challenge. In the earlier levels winning it is easy and don't be put off by seeing a player overtake you and get to the last level. Chances are they will sit there for a long time, as the race is set up that way. If you then finish your episode in one sitting you WILL always win it. I enjoy the game regardless of these facts, but you always need to keep this at the back of your mind: If you fail a level, it's because you were set up to fail. If you have just one jelly left, chances are it's because the algorithm made it so.

Try to win the episode races to make gold and use every opportunity of events that give you gold or boosters. Check this community for events and tips!

Use boosters wisely. A lollipop hammer is great if saved for those boards when there is only one jelly or blocker left, don't waste them on levels unless you can see they will definitely help you to pass. If you have any UFOs then keep them for those extra hard levels and play them near the end if you see they will win you the level. Never waste those boosters. Don't waste starting boosters either. I always play them for nightmarish or legendary levels, but once only. If you don't pass a legendary level on your first try with them then they won't help you on your second try either, so don't waste them on hopeless levels! Try them once and then don't play them until you have tried the level so often that the game boards gets easier. You will notice this when the candies that drop are what you need to pass. Take advantage of these "lucky" boards, and remember that it's not luck at all but part of the level design.

Don't cling on to your win streak at all costs. The game is set up and manipulated to help players get on a win streak and then use up all their boosters and lots of gold to keep it. Some levels are just not meant to be passed, so sacrifice your win streak if you hit one of those and just keep playing them until the game lets you pass or offers you enough extra moves for 10 gold bars to pass. Do not ever spend gold twice at the end of a level as this will deplete your reserves. If you can't see on the board that 10 gold will pass the level then don't play on. For this you will need to pause and think when you have 1 or 2 moves left, as you can't see the board at the end!

And finally, if you are one of those players who gets adverts to watch for free boosters, don't spend any money in this game ever, because it will make you lose the advert features.

There doesn't seem to be anyone around….
Why am I stuck
I’m on level 18543 and there is no way to get out of it unless I buy bonus stuff. All my adds have disappeared so I can’t watch for extra moves. Will they return? I’ve been on this level for weeks and honestly I’m about to delete the app!
Can't progress without spending money
