I had the same problem in the game yesterday as well, like you I tried playing with weird striped and wrapped candy in strange colours, managed to pass the level and closed the game. When I started the game today all was back to normal.🙃
That is odd Scooterpie every time I have had the issue of messed up graphics just restarting the game has always 'fixed' the problem
It happened to me today as well and I actually tried to play the game messed up. Yellow candy were liquorice, orange candy were something unrecognisable, wrapped candy weren't the right colour. I didn't complete the level, but I enjoyed the challenge.
The only way I could access the site earlier today was using incognito mode. It wouldn't let me sign in though.
Can only play on my mobile right now so no new levels for me. Of course I can't tell if my laptop Win 11 game is back to normal.
I played my mobile using both my Kingdom Account and my Facebook account. Findings are that the Facebook version for me is far more fun with more events and the ads (which I do not mind). Check it out if you have not in a while. I think that I will check being signed in both ways on everything.

Restarting did no good. Now, I cannot play at all till much later in the day. My Facebook browser versions are fine, my mobile is fine, just my Win 11 game. Not going to check it again because it was basically unplayable and there is no point in wasting boosters or my Win Streak/Candy Necklace. Extremely disappointing to loyal players. Extremely!

Hi @Scooterpie I also had an error message when I was trying to load this community page... Whatever is going on? Hope your game has recovered now? Have you tried restarting your computer as well as the game?
My game is totally messed up! Closing and opening does not work...
Really nice when they have 120 new levels... Come on...
p.s. I could not even go here to the Community for hours...

If it is just close your game and restart it. That should clear the graphics problem.
As for whether or not the problem is going to go away I couldn't say for sure. As it has been going on since March

Or possibly even since 2015 I wouldn't be confident that King are trying that hard.
