I guess with a recent update now when you use a color bomb on a striped candy it vibrates my phone like crazy. I don’t like it at all. Can that be changed in the settings?

The "vibrating" thing is a new setting that has been reaching slowly to more players. I too have received it recently and took a while for me to figure out what to do!!
You are right! There is a setting to stop that vibrating🤩 So, if you have not figured it out already, please follow below steps...
1) On game Home screen, click on the Pink Cog Wheel. You will see below window;
2) You will see 3 icons just above to "My Account" and the 3rd icon is for "vibrating" motion;
3) Click on that 3rd icon and the Vibration will be blocked. When you make special combos, you won't feel that annoying (sorry) vibrating anymore😂
