Hi friends π Congratulations to everyone who qualified for the Final!
I am the laziest out there π I entered the leaderboard yesterday evening with 15 hours to go, and the top player's score in my group was around 30k. I only played two episodes and expected to be overtaken by morning, but no, I found myself still in the first place π
Maybe I was lucky, but it might be, it is the sweet spot to enter the leaderboard. Late, but not very late when it takes longer to fill the groups with the requisite number of players.
I entered the Semi Final to test out the late entry theory further, and I'm undecided about the Final. I will have to expend a considerable amount of gold from my stash to compete, and gold is harder to obtain now that I'm only receiving 35 GBs from Episode Race π
In any case, I wish everyone participating in tomorrow's Final the best of luck π π π π
P.S. It's best to play from the beginning in the Final because late entry strategies won't work, as mentioned earlier.

Hey good for you @MannyFae ! Congratulations for the qualification to the finals!
We must have entered the semis around the same time, but apparently my leaderboard was more lively than yours. When I joined, top players where at around 100k and kept playing hard. At one point I thought I would not be able to move on from the 15-20th position.
Keeping playing as fast as I could, thankful that Candy Royale, Seasonal pass and level collection for GB had stopped (less time lost in useless screens), I finaly managed to move above 10th position. Top player was then near 200k. The night gave me the avantage as many must have gone sleeping. That's then that I reached first place and kept.
So a harder leaderboard than yours but way less competitive than that of some competing friends...

I appreciate your participation in the game pop-up in Candy Crush!π€ Regarding your question, spending the amount of gold necessary would be a limitation of buying more boosters and also more useful are the festive boosters of clearing the board of sweets, however the difficulty comes in addition to the players reaching the final rounds and coming in 1st. For the best possible player, you have to spend gold bars and buy more boosters and this can take away players' interest in the gameplay.

Thanks @nekocat π€ It's the easiest Semi Final I was in and I'm astonished π I originally intended to skip the tournament but was tempted by 'Bash for bars' first and then by New Year Collection, and so ended up in the Final...
Your leaderboard was much more challenging than mine. Even with the late entry strategy we still end up in a tough group at times... Crushing through the night is daunting, but it's a strategy that often works, and I'm glad that you won πͺ
