Which device are you using to play the game?
I think the accounts are protected by password for security purposes!! I do not make in-game purchases, hence, I am not aware about it!! But, let me call in my friend and co-Mod @bearwithme, who would be familiar with this info.

Hi @Ravello - I think it may depend on what platform you are using and how you are purchasing items. I play on an iPhone and use Apple Pay, so usually I don’t need to provide a password each time I purchase something. But I also have facial recognition with my phone.

It's the safest way to make purchases of any kind. I suggest you put up with having to require a password. It avoids making accidental purchases or someone else using your phone to buy something.
