Can you use Apple balance for in game purchases ?

I have $100 gift card attached to my Apple phone and would like to do an in game purchase but it will only take off my card and not default back to Apple balance if card has no funds available Apple are saying you block this method of payment is that correct

5. Under "Payment & Shipping," make sure your Apple ID balance is set as the primary payment method.

Because, they have the resources to closely monitor your account and answer or rectify the issue on their side. Also, they might need your Gift Card number, etc., and since this is a Public Forum, it is not advised to post any of that info here!

You can send your request directly from your game⬇️

• Click on the Pink Cogwheel icon located in the top left corner of the game Map screen;
• Click on ? icon;
• Go down to "Purchases";
• Look for an appropriate option and click on it;
• Now scroll down all the way and click on "Contact Us";
• Fill out the form and submit your complaint.
