A chat function for the game is a popular suggestion @777_8888_ but personally I would not like to see one appear. I wouldn't mind a status bar that I could manually change myself to show certain information such as 'I am on holiday, so can't send lives' but I wouldn't want to see a full chat feature that would allow random strangers to start conversations with me, or berate me for beating them in the Weekly Contest.
