Level 1
i’m used to having to play for days on some of these levels until the game decides to let me win. I’ve been playing this level for 4 days now.
But this level has a major issue - not enough licorice drops during the game to win (unless you use extra lives). Now that you have only limited options to collect gold bars, the only option is to buy the extra lives at the end of the level. This level appears to be a cash grab!
You’ve reduced moves and now added additional levels of frosting on many of the levels. But having a level not drop nearly enough licorice to even come close to winning is a new low and just plain wrong.
Someone needs to check to see why this level is not working as it should.
Hello @moiohio50 Are you still stuck on this level? I have tried it out in my game this morning. On my first try without any boosters I was many liquorice short, but on my second try when I used all three starting boosters I got this:
I suspect that the algorithm wants players to use all three pre level boosters, but also the strategy must be to clear the liquorice as quickly as possible. I suspect that if there are a certain number tied up on the board then no more will drop, so concentrate just on clearing those liquorice you see, using wrapped candies is best. And using the lucky candy for this level is of course of help, as it will just create liquorice. As you can see I didn't pass this level, but I did get enough liquorice on the board, so I do think the drop rate is intentional.
Hello @moiohio50 for some reason my comment went for approval! I have no idea why. I found that I did manage to get enough liquorice in this level by using all three starting booster and concentrating on removing all the liquorice as soon as it appeared. I hope my post will show up here later.
I finally managed to pass this level and hope this time the AI won't send my post for approval again: I will send in batches.
Firstly, I did not bother with starting boosters, except I had a timed stripe/wrap combo, but I doubt that helped at all. I carry out the first move the game suggests and try to clear blockers until the first 5 liquorice have dropped. I know that if there are five on the board no more will drop. If there are 1,2,3 or 4, then enough will drop to make up to five, every three moves or so.
After about ten attempts I still get not lucky board that will help me destroy any of the starting liquorice early enough. So I decide to try using two lollipop hammers to remove one on them and see what happens. I do think that if you don't get the chance of a move to remove at least one of the first five liquorice early on then you won't pass. Quit and try again, or use a lollipop. (NOT a UFO, I tried that and it went for the wrong area)
Indeed, this seems to now have triggered my lucky board and from this point onwards I do get the candies I need to always make sure I don't have 5 liquorice on my board when they are ready to spawn. I ignore the dragons, they drop eventually if I create enough combos of wrap/stripe or stripe/stripe to clear the liquorice.
By this time it is looking hopeful. The more the board opens up the better the opportunities to create combos. But be altert and count liquorice: If ever there are five on the board, destroy as many as you can to bring down more.
And finally I get to pass this level.
I think the game wants me to pass now because I have played the algorithm as it was meant to be played, so I am confident that by hitting that colour bomb/wrap combo those five liquorice will be destroyed. And I am right:
I hope this helps and good luck!
