I joined an event (I’m actually on 14305) and it says 60 minutes of unlimited lives (see screen shot). Everytime I play it gives me 30 minutes. See screenshot.

There are apparently two versions of Beat the Buffet being trialled, one with 60 minutes and one with 30 minutes of unlimited lives. Strictly speaking the game does not promise 60 minutes according to the weird wording (and unlimited lives). If you can play for the entire hour and add to your score while using your normal 5 lives then I don't think it's broken but that you are part of a test group for this event. I also get just 30 minutes free lives in my game.
