Those Stars are called "Season Mastery" points! Once you collect certain number of points, a Treasure chest will be opened and you will receive extra booster prizes.
You should see a special icon called "Season Mastery" in your Events folder, which will tell you how many points you have collected and which Treasure box (Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.,) you will open next.
