By logging in with email - you mean to say to create a new King account? If so, no! You should not lose your progress.
But, since you are not logged into your Facebook account due to the password issue, you might not be able to sync the game now and hence, you might not find the progress of your game! But, you can contact King Player Support and request them to restore your game progress.
First, I would suggest you to resolve the issue with the Password. And then, proceed with creating a King account.

Actually @kefitz1132 are you using Facebook? Several other people have complained about the same issue as you. This being the case your issue has more than likely been caused by Facebook.
Hello @kefitz1132 are you using the correct choice when you login to you game.
Please use the Log in with email option when you sign in and not the Sign up with email option
