Level 1
Hello @heather197823 and welcome to our community! Unfortunately I can neither see such a level on any YouTube video nor do I have this version of level 838 in my game. You must have a different version of the level, but I'm sure we might be able to help you with some advice if we can see what your level looks like. So please could you post a screenshot of your starting board. Thanks.
If they were playing when Volcanic Panic was still ongoing they might have been level shifted. I know it put one of my playthroughs a few levels off. That being said I think I know what level they might be talking about but I don't recall anything like it in that range.
I do not recognize that level at all.
Anyway the way to win by looking at the level from the image.
Do you see the line of 5 candies (left to right), blue green green purple purple. Where the first green and purple are is the exit points for the chocolates on the sides. You need to just clear the area where those 5 candies are for the chocolates to drop one the board.
Hello @biddyqueen Luckily I do have this version of level 838 in my game now so I can try help you work out how to pass. As @Pyrolight stated, there are portals on the board for candies to drop. Chocolate won't drop, so it is important to not turn the lucky candies into chocolate until they have dropped through those portals. This is my starting board:
It is important to NOT play a colour bomb against any of the colours that have a lucky candy early on here. If you were to play a colour bomb against blue on this board it would lead you to fail. Those lucky candies would turn into chocolate and block the portals! This is what happened on your screenshot, and if you end up in that situation there is no way to proceed and you will fail the level and have to retry.
So start by removing the toffee swirls. The game gives you no other move, so please do NOT play starting boosters on this level but carry out the one move the game will give you playing without boosters and then proceed from there. On my next screenshot you can see that the lucky candies have started to drop down through the portals.
I do make the striped candy matching the four blues and the game helps me now: Two moves on I can make a stripe/colour bomb combo:
and a bit further on you can see how easy it will be to pass. You can just let the chocolate grow before hitting the stripe/stripe combo, or wait for more lucky candies to drop.
So yes, this one is definite win streak blocker level to try to trick and catch players out who like to use starting colour bombs! Have you found a name for those yet @Pyrolight ?
On a second thought @QueenB maybe the design team should be alerted about this level because if there were locks for the starting boosters this problem would not occur. Win streak boosters should also be disabled. There are no locks:
If it is deliberate to trick players then that is really unfair!
