Hello @Sandalik๐ค A Warm Welcome to the King Community!
I guess this happens in all games but not just Candy Crush Saga!
What I think is if there are hard levels in the beginning stage itself, players might not attempt to play the game! Once we cross 200 levels, we might probably be "tuned" to the game and do not want to quit that quickly๐
What do you say @christinewupp?

Hello @Sandalik Those levels are notoriously hard and I believe the reason is this:
King think by level 200 players have come to enjoy the game, think it's fun and that they are good at playing Candy Crush and maybe that they will find it addictive. At this point the level design team want players to start spending money on the game, or for anyone who still has gold and boosters saved up to use those, so that later on in the game they will become paying customers. Therefore from level 205 there are legendary levels which cannot be passed on your first attempt. That is written into some of those levels, so players are forced to either spend gold bars if they wish to keep their win streak or play those levels many, many times over before they can pass them. The outcome of these levels is pre determined, so it is not about strategy but about playing boosters and gold wisely and about patience and perseverance. That is what Candy Crush is all about.
As these levels are designed to block players on a top win streak they are placed five levels apart, just when players may have got their win streak back after failing the last legendary level.
